Quick Start Guide

PrintPerfect Labels turns your Google Sheets data into professional labels in minutes. Here's everything you need to get started.

Installation

From Google Workspace Marketplace

  1. Visit Google Workspace Marketplace
  2. Search for "PrintPerfect Labels"
  3. Click Install and grant permissions
  4. The add-on will appear in your Extensions menu

From Google Sheets

  1. Open any Google Sheet
  2. Click ExtensionsAdd-onsGet add-ons
  3. Search for "PrintPerfect Labels"
  4. Click Install

Creating Your First Labels

Step 1: Prepare Your Data

Set up your spreadsheet with column headers in the first row:

Important: Column headers become your merge fields. Keep them simple (no spaces or special characters work best).

Step 2: Open PrintPerfect Labels

  1. Click ExtensionsPrintPerfect LabelsOpen PrintPerfect Labels
  2. The sidebar opens on the right

Step 3: Choose a Template

Select from the dropdown menu. Popular choices:

  • Avery 5160: Standard address labels (30 per sheet)
  • Avery 5163: Shipping labels (10 per sheet)
  • Avery 5395: Name badges (8 per sheet)

Step 4: Design Your Label

Type your label layout using merge fields: {{firstname}} {{lastname}} {{address}} {{city}}, {{state}} {{zip}}

Use the formatting toolbar to:

  • Bold important text
  • Center align for badges
  • Change font size

Step 5: Create Labels

  1. Click Preview to see a sample
  2. Click Create Labels to generate all labels
  3. A new Google Doc opens with your formatted labels

Printing Your Labels

Essential Settings

  • Scale: Always set to 100% or "Actual size"
  • Margins: Use default (don't change)
  • Never use "Fit to page"

Test First

  1. Print on regular paper
  2. Hold against your label sheet to check alignment
  3. Adjust if needed

Tips for Success

Data Preparation

  • Remove empty rows
  • Check for typos
  • Standardize formatting (ST vs State)

Common Templates

  • Address Labels: Avery 5160 (1" × 2.625")
  • Shipping: Avery 5163 (2" × 4")
  • Name Tags: Avery 5395 (2.33" × 3.375")
  • File Folders: Avery 5366 (0.66" × 3.44")

Troubleshooting

Labels don't align?

  • Verify correct template selected
  • Check printer is set to 100% scale
  • Ensure you're using the right label brand

Text cut off?

  • Use a larger label template
  • Reduce font size
  • Shorten your content
