PDF Scanner Privacy Policy

Documents you scan and sign are stored on your device and in the locations you choose.

Last updated September 11, 2026 Applies to PDF Scanner・Editor・eSign・Photo

Awesome Enterprises Private Limited, trading as AppEnso ("AppEnso", "we", "us", "our"), takes your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy explains what information PDF Scanner ("the app") collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. It supplements our general Privacy Policy and applies to the PDF Scanner・Editor・eSign・Photo app for iOS.

1Information We Collect

Most AppEnso apps are designed to work without an account and process data on your device. Depending on the app, we may collect:

  • Usage & diagnostics data — anonymous statistics and crash reports that help us improve stability and performance.
  • Device information — device model, operating-system version, language and app version, used to deliver a compatible experience.
  • Advertising identifiers — in free, ad-supported apps, the advertising ID your device makes available, used by ad networks to serve and measure ads, subject to your device's tracking settings.
  • Information you provide — such as the contents of a support request you send us.

2Permissions PDF Scanner may request

PDF Scanner asks for a device permission only when a feature needs it. You can change any of these at any time in Settings.

  • Camera — To capture pages for scanning.
  • Photos — Optional — to import images as pages or export scans to your library.

3How this app handles your documents

Scanned pages, edits and signatures are stored on your device. Sharing or exporting a document sends it only to the app or service you pick in the share sheet.

If a text-recognition (OCR) feature uses a cloud service, the page image is sent for that request only and is not retained.

4How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to operate, maintain and improve our apps, to provide customer support, to diagnose technical issues, to show and measure advertising in ad-supported apps, and to comply with legal obligations. We do not sell your personal information.

5On-Device Processing

Many features — such as photo cleanup, measuring, levelling, code scanning and speaker cleaning — run entirely on your device. The media and files you process are not uploaded to our servers unless a feature explicitly says so.

Some features (for example AI photo restoration or coin identification) send the specific image you choose to a processing service in order to return a result. Those images are used only to produce that result and are not kept longer than needed to do so.

6Permissions

Our apps ask for device permissions only when a feature needs them — for example the camera to scan a code, the photo library to clean up photos, or the microphone to listen for a clap. You can change permissions at any time in your device settings; some features will not work without them.

7Third-Party Services

We use trusted third-party services for analytics, crash reporting, advertising and, where a feature requires it, cloud processing. These providers process data on our behalf under their own privacy terms. App-store purchases and subscriptions are handled by Apple or Google, who process your payment details under their policies.

8Data Retention

We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes described in this policy, or as required by law. Support correspondence is retained for a reasonable period to assist with follow-up requests. Anonymous analytics are retained in aggregate form.

9Your Rights & Choices

Depending on your location (including under the GDPR, the UK GDPR, the CCPA/CPRA and India's DPDP Act), you may have the right to access, correct or delete your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. You can limit ad personalisation and tracking in your device settings.

To exercise these rights, contact us at [email protected]. We will respond within the time required by applicable law.

10Children’s Privacy

Our apps are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can remove it.

11International Transfers

AppEnso is based in India and our service providers may process data in other countries. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for these transfers.

12Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

13Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “last updated” date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, by a notice inside the affected app.
